10 injured in turbulence on Cathay Pacific flight


Dhaka: Ten passengers and crew members were injured when a Cathay Pacific Airways flight from Brisbane to Hong Kong encountered severe turbulence on May 23.
Cathay Pacific confirmed that flight CX156 experienced turbulence, injuring six cabin crew and four passengers, including two Australians. Eight of the 10 were sent to hospitals for further medical care.
The flight arrived in Hong Kong at 06:45 am. Medical personnel boarded the aircraft to assess those who reported feeling unwell.
An Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) spokesperson said it received a report at around 06:00 am regarding the flight and immediately requested fire and ambulance services to stand by. The aircraft landed safely at 06:35 am, and paramedics boarded to assist the injured.
One traveler described the experience as similar to "free-falling from a drop tower."
