Special rickshaws hit Dhaka streets to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary

Dhaka: The United States Embassy in Dhaka has launched 50 specially decorated rickshaws in the capital to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.
According to a recent Facebook post by the US Embassy, “To mark America’s 250th
anniversary, Ambassador Christensen launched 50 red, white and blue rickshaws
to honor American independence and highlight the strong U.S.-Bangladesh
partnership.”
The colorful initiative combines Bangladesh’s
iconic rickshaw art with the symbolic colors of the American flag, reflecting
the longstanding friendship and cultural connection between the two countries.

The United States and Bangladesh have maintained close cooperation over the
years in areas such as trade, development, education, climate resilience and
security.
The launch event attracted widespread attention on social media, where the
uniquely designed rickshaws were praised as a creative tribute to both American
independence and Bangladesh’s vibrant urban culture.
