Atomflot in Mutrmansk provides repair services for large-sized parts of ships

At the floating dock No. 3, of Atomflot FSUE, a company of ROSATOM, in Murmansk, in the northern-western part of Russia, has completed the repair of the Northern Wave motor ship. Since the beginning of 2022, this was the fourth vessel of outside customers to receive the services of FSUE.
"Our company provides a full range of operations on dock repair of ships," said Oleg Darbinyan, Chief Engineer of Atomflot FSUE. “During the winter-spring navigation, nuclear icebreakers stay in the waters of the Northern Sea Route, and we can use our available ship repair facilities for other clients. We are the only company of Murmansk region which has the necessary equipment for repair and moving of large-sized ship parts."
In 2018, Atomflot FSUE put into operation a dock workshop with state-of-the-art high-performance machine tools. For example, one of the three lathes is one of a kind in the Mutrmansk region. Its dimensions allow for the machining of parts weighing up to 70 tons and up to 18 meters long. The dock workshop building also accommodates a separate area equipped with advanced equipment for the repair of sea valves.
For the purpose of prompt repair of steam turbine and diesel installations, pumping equipment, onboard systems, and pipelines, as well as electrical equipment, in 2021, Atomflot FSUE signed a three-year contract with a branch of Atomenergoremont – Kolatomenergoremont, a company of ROSATOM. This company has considerable production assets and is ready to engage the necessary number of personnel in a short time to solve the most challenging tasks.
The ship repair production facilities of Atomflot FSUE are made up of four production sections: mechanical section; dock metalworking section; hull-welding section; area for the repair of nuclear power plants and nuclear process plants.
