Fog delays over 300 flights at Delhi airport

New Delhi: More than 300 flights were delayed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday (January 7) due to low visibility caused by fog, airport officials reported.
Despite the delays, officials confirmed that no flights were diverted.
According to a post by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) on X at 5:20 pm, visibility at the airport had improved, and all flights were operating normally by that time.
Passengers were advised to contact their respective airlines for updated flight information.
DIAL, which operates the airport, handles approximately 1,300 flight movements daily. Adverse weather conditions also affected operations at other airports, including Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Patna.
In a statement at 6:28 pm, IndiGo airlines acknowledged the impact of the weather on flights, expressing their hope for improved conditions. "We understand how this affects your travel plans, and we wish the weather had been more favorable," the airline posted on X. "We are monitoring the situation closely and hope for a return to normalcy once the weather clears."
