HSIA inaugurates two new ultramodern x-ray machines

Dhaka: Two new ultramodern x-ray machines have been launched at the export cargo village of Dhaka Airport on January 4.
The US-made machines were inaugurated by Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
In his inaugural speech, the Executive Director said they are prioritising the rising demand of perishables export like vegetables, fish, crab, flowers, and fruits from Bangladesh to abroad, hence these machines will only serve that purpose.
This will allow our local agricultural products to reach the international market in a shorter time and in a bigger amount on priority-basis, he further noted, adding that in return, our local farmers will be motivated to do export based agriculture.
The machines are already in operation from January 4 and had been handed over to the Aviation Security’s supervision.
Concerned stakeholders applauded the development saying this will eliminate the chances of perishables to ruin at the airport in export process.
