Uber announces free rides for vaccine seekers

Uber announced that it will provide 50,000 free rides - worth Tk1 crore - for people travelling to and from vaccination centres in Dhaka.
The initiative is a part of Uber's global commitment to provide 10 million free or discounted rides to ensure efficient and equitable access to vaccines.
Mass vaccination is the key to overcoming the pandemic and we are committed to providing safer and timely transportation options to riders, travelling to vaccination centers. This, in turn, will help communities to stay safe and rebuild their lives.
As the vaccination drive gathers momentum here, we are thrilled to announce our pledge to offer 50,000 free rides, for citizens travelling to vaccination centers across Dhaka.
It’s a privilege for us to support the government’s drive to vaccinate across the cities we serve, by removing transportation as a barrier to people getting access to vaccines, they added.
