United Airways to hold its AGM tomorrow


Dhaka: The New Board of Directors of the United Airways (BD) Ltd. will hold the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the airline using online platform, tomorrow, January 3 at 11 am.
The first ever AGM after 2015, will cover 7 years (2016-2022) to comply with the joint-stock company regulations. Holding AGMs is part of the efforts to revive the only private sector airline registered with the stock exchange of the country.
Audited financial statements for 2016 to 2022 will be placed before the board and shareholders. The AGM to receive, consider and adopt the Directors' and Auditors' Reports.
United Airways was established in 2005 and later in 2010 was listed with Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). In February 2016, the airline stopped flight operations without any prior announcement throwing thousands of general shareholders in uncertainty and despair.
Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) took a number of measures to revive the airline. One of the major decisions was restructuring the board with the appointment of eight independent directors on March 4, 2021.
