Visa on arrival services resume in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Visa on arrival facility for foreign travellers resumed in Bangladesh after a hiatus of one and a half years following the pandemic.
The visa on arrival services for incoming foreigners in four categories resumed from December 1 as per the directive of the Department of Security Services of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the directive from the Department, following categories of foreign travellers are eligible for visa on arrival in Bangladesh: (1) Bangladeshi origin foreign citizens and their spouse and children; (2) Diplomatic and official passport holding foreign travellers, (3) Foreign investors and businessmen; and (4) Foreign citizens invited by the Bangladesh government to attend a government meeting/seminar/conference/ or any other event.
The Department also mentioned that on-arrival visas may be issued to certain travellers with the prior permission of the Department of Security Services for special consideration if required.
It may be noted, the arriving passengers have to follow the Covid-19 protocols set by the Health and Family Welfare Ministry and the Health Department.
