Bangladesh seeks more Biman flights on Dhaka-Rome route

Dhaka: Bangladesh has renewed its call for increased flight frequencies on the Dhaka-Rome route to better serve the growing Bangladeshi community in Italy.
The issue was discussed during a courtesy meeting between Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam and Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Antonio Alessandro at the Bangladesh Secretariat on June 22, said a press release.
During the meeting, the minister emphasized the need to enhance air connectivity between Bangladesh and Italy, noting that a larger number of flights would benefit the sizeable Bangladeshi diaspora living in Italy and facilitate smoother travel between the two countries.
In response, Ambassador Alessandro assured that the matter would be examined and that appropriate measures would be explored to improve flight connectivity between Bangladesh and Italy.
The two sides also discussed ways to further strengthen longstanding bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Italy hosts around 250,000 Bangladeshi migrants, making it one of the largest destinations for Bangladeshi expatriates in Europe.
