Bangladeshi educator honored by Maldives First Lady


Dhaka: A Bangladeshi educator and entrepreneur in the Maldives has been honored for his longstanding contribution to the country's education sector, according to a social media post by the Bangladesh High Commission in Malé.
Ahmed Muttaki received a prestigious award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to education in the Maldives spanning more than three decades. The award was presented by Sajidha Mohamed, First Lady of the Republic of Maldives, during the 20th anniversary celebration of Mianz College.
In a statement shared on its official social media handle, the Bangladesh High Commission extended its heartfelt congratulations to Muttaki, describing the recognition as a significant achievement for both the recipient and Bangladesh.
The mission noted that Muttaki's dedication to education has played an important role in the development of the sector in the Maldives and highlighted the positive impact of Bangladeshi professionals working abroad.
The High Commission said the award is a source of pride for Bangladesh and reflects the valuable contributions made by Bangladeshis in strengthening people-to-people ties and friendship between Bangladesh and the Maldives.
Bangladesh and the Maldives enjoy close bilateral relations, with a growing number of Bangladeshi professionals contributing to various sectors of the island nation, including education, healthcare, tourism, and construction.
