UK warns over rise in visa fraud, urges reporting of scams

Dhaka: The British High Commission in Dhaka has warned of an increase in fraudulent claims related to UK visas in Bangladesh, saying many people are being misled by individuals and agents promising guaranteed visas or jobs.

In a social media post on June 28, the High Commission said scammers were luring victims with false assurances of securing UK visas or employment opportunities.

"If you suspect any UK visa-related fraud, you can report it confidentially by emailing BangladeshVisaFraud@fcdo.gov.uk," the mission said.

The High Commission also advised visa applicants to rely only on official sources for UK visa information and procedures, directing them to the UK government's official website for accurate guidance.
